On 25 October 2026, farmers from Karra Block in Khunti district, associated with WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation, enthusiastically participated in an advanced potato cultivation training programme organised under the Scheduled Tribe (ST) Project. The programme provided information on improved potato cultivation techniques, the use of quality seeds, and scientific farming practices to promote agricultural development, strengthen rural livelihoods, and empower tribal farming communities.
The training provided farmers with an opportunity to learn about advanced potato cultivation techniques, the importance of using quality seeds, and the role of scientific farming practices in improving agricultural productivity. The programme focused on building agricultural awareness and encouraging farmers to adopt improved methods suited to their farming activities.
Promoting Scientific Farming Practices
Agriculture is an important source of livelihood for rural and tribal communities in Jharkhand. Improving access to agricultural knowledge, suitable seeds, and technical guidance can help farmers make informed decisions and explore opportunities to strengthen their farming practices.
Through this training programme, farmers gained exposure to improved potato cultivation methods and the importance of applying scientific knowledge to agricultural production. Such initiatives can support better crop management, encourage agricultural innovation, and contribute to more sustainable farming systems.
