Under Road Safety Month–2026, the District Transport Department, Simdega has been continuously organizing awareness programs to prevent road accidents and promote traffic rule compliance. As part of this initiative, a Road Safety Awareness Program was successfully conducted at Jaldega Chowk and Lomboi area with the support of WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation, aiming to encourage safe and disciplined road behavior among the general public.
The primary objective of the program was to motivate common citizens, vehicle drivers, youth, and pedestrians to adopt safe, disciplined, and responsible traffic behavior. The program witnessed wide participation from local residents, reflecting strong community engagement and interest in road safety initiatives.
During the program, awareness messages related to road safety were delivered through impactful street plays and cultural performances based on social themes. These performances highlighted the mandatory use of helmets and seat belts, the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol, adherence to prescribed speed limits, respect for traffic signals and road signs, and essential precautions to prevent road accidents. The use of local language and simple presentation styles by the performers helped the audience connect directly with the messages and understand the seriousness of road safety in their daily lives.
The program, conducted under the guidance of the District Transport Department, Simdega, was effectively implemented at the grassroots level by WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation.
