WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation organized a comprehensive Uterus and Breast Cancer Awareness Program at +2 High School, Sindri, located in Arki Block of Khunti District. The primary objective of the program was to raise awareness among adolescent girls and women about major health risks affecting women, emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and preventive care, and encourage a positive approach toward maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The program witnessed active participation from school students, women guardians, and local community women, which significantly enhanced its overall impact.
During the program, Block Coordinator Ganga Puran shared detailed and practical information on uterus and breast cancer. Using simple and easily understandable language, she explained the causes, early warning signs, risk factors, preventive measures, and the need for timely medical consultation. She emphasized that early detection of these diseases greatly increases the chances of successful treatment and that regular health check-ups play a crucial role in safeguarding women’s health. She also addressed common myths, fear, and hesitation prevalent in society and encouraged women to openly discuss health-related concerns without stigma.
A special session was also conducted on menstrual hygiene management. Participants were informed about the importance of maintaining proper hygiene during menstruation to prevent infections and promote overall physical and mental well-being. Practical guidance was provided on the use of safe and hygienic sanitary products, timely changing of pads, use of clean water, and maintaining personal cleanliness. This discussion not only improved awareness but also helped build confidence and self-respect among the participants.
Overall, the program proved to be a meaningful and impactful initiative toward strengthening women’s health rights, bridging information gaps, and creating a health-conscious and sensitive environment at the community level. This effort by WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation went beyond information sharing and served as an inspiring step toward empowering women to become more aware, responsible, and proactive about their own health.
