To commemorate World Environment Day 2026, WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation launched a comprehensive Tree Plantation and Environmental Conservation Campaign across several districts of Jharkhand, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability and community participation. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about climate change, deforestation, biodiversity conservation, and the importance of increasing green cover for a healthier future.
As part of the campaign, a special tree plantation programme was organized in Bakchoma Village, Simaria Block, Chatra District, under the leadership of Ms. Uma Devi, Director of WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Panchayat Mahila Mitras, Gram Sakhis, rural women, youth volunteers, and local citizens, who came together to plant trees and pledge their commitment to protecting the environment.
Under this statewide campaign, the Foundation successfully planted a total of 300 saplings across different districts of Jharkhand. The plantation drive was designed not only to increase green cover but also to encourage communities to take long-term responsibility for nurturing and protecting the trees, thereby contributing to ecological balance and climate resilience.World Environment Day 2026: WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation Launches Tree Plantation and Environmental Conservation Campaign Across Jharkhand
Addressing the participants, Ms. Uma Devi emphasized that rising pollution, climate change, and rapid deforestation have become serious challenges for humanity. She stated that if every individual plants and nurtures at least one tree every year, future generations can inherit a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment. She encouraged community members to view tree plantation as a lifelong responsibility rather than a one-day activity.
The campaign also highlighted the crucial role of local communities in environmental conservation. Through active participation and awareness activities, the programme inspired citizens to adopt eco-friendly practices, conserve natural resources, and work collectively toward building greener villages and sustainable ecosystems.
Beyond environmental initiatives, WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation continues to work in the fields of women’s empowerment, public health awareness, education, skill development, and rural development, integrating sustainable development principles into all its programmes. The Foundation believes that environmental protection and community development go hand in hand and are essential for achieving long-term social and economic progress.
