A special Farmer Awareness and Interaction Program was organized at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Khunti, on the occasion of the release of the 23rd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme. The program aimed to enhance farmers’ awareness about government agricultural initiatives, modern farming technologies, and opportunities for sustainable agricultural development.

With the support of WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation, progressive farmers, women farmers, and representatives of farmer groups from Karra, Rania, Khunti, and Torpa blocks participated in the event. The initiative ensured that farmers from rural communities could directly access expert guidance and gain valuable knowledge about various government schemes and scientific farming practices.

During the program, farmers listened to the Prime Minister’s address to the farming community and received information about the benefits of the PM-KISAN Scheme as well as other agricultural programs being implemented by the Central and State Governments. The session provided insights into policies and initiatives designed to improve agricultural productivity and strengthen farmers’ livelihoods.

Agricultural scientists and experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Khunti, conducted technical sessions on the use of improved seeds, soil health management, balanced fertilizer application, water conservation, fruit and vegetable cultivation, pest and disease management, and natural and organic farming practices. Farmers were encouraged to adopt scientific methods and modern agricultural technologies to make farming more profitable, productive, and sustainable.

WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation played a significant role in facilitating the participation of farmers from different blocks, enabling them to interact directly with agricultural experts and seek solutions to challenges faced in their farming activities. Participants gained valuable knowledge on increasing crop productivity, reducing cultivation costs, and improving market linkages for better economic returns.

Representatives of WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation highlighted the organization’s ongoing efforts to enhance farmers’ income, promote scientific agriculture, strengthen horticulture-based livelihoods, and contribute to overall rural development. Farmers attending the event appreciated the initiative and emphasized that such programs help them stay informed about modern technologies, government support systems, and innovative farming practices. They expressed confidence that the knowledge gained through the program would contribute to making agriculture more productive and financially rewarding.

The program concluded with a collective call for farmers to adopt scientific farming practices and maximize the benefits of government schemes.
