Kedli village under Chhata Panchayat of Karra Block in Khunti district witnessed a meaningful public health initiative as WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation
organized a Sanitary Pad Distribution Program aimed at improving women’s health and menstrual hygiene. The program was conducted with the support of Panchayat Mahila Mitra Dashmi Bada, through whose coordination 50 women from the village received sanitary pads.
During the program, women were educated about menstrual health and hygiene. They were informed that menstruation is a natural and normal biological process and that maintaining cleanliness during this period is essential to prevent infections and other health complications. The importance of using sanitary pads for safe and hygienic menstrual management was explained in a simple and culturally sensitive manner, encouraging women to adopt healthy practices without hesitation or stigma.
The initiative created an open and supportive environment where women felt comfortable discussing menstrual health, helping to break long-standing taboos associated with the subject. Participants expressed that access to sanitary pads and correct information enhanced their awareness, dignity, and confidence, enabling them to take better care of their health.
WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation stated that the organization is consistently working for the health, dignity, and empowerment of rural women and considers menstrual hygiene a critical component of women’s well-being. The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to continue organizing such community-based programs in remote and underserved areas, contributing to positive and sustainable social change through awareness, access, and empowerment.
