A new Sewing Training Center was inaugurated in Karra Block of Khunti District near the +2 High School in a dignified and enthusiastic ceremony organized by WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation. The center was formally inaugurated by the Block Development Officer Smita Nagesia, District Coordinator of the Chief Minister’s Small and Cottage Industries Development Board Aten Topno, and Block Coordinator Santosh Kumar Soni. The program commenced with ribbon-cutting and ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing a new beginning for women’s empowerment in the region.
During the event, the Founder of WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation, Jitendra Kumar Verma, shared detailed insights into the organization’s mission, objectives, and future plans. He emphasized that the sewing center would not be limited to basic training but would also focus on production-based activities to economically empower women. He stated that the foundation’s core objective is to enable rural and tribal women and young girls to become self-reliant through skill development, thereby strengthening their families’ financial stability.
The program was also attended by State Coordinator **Priyanka Kumari, Program Managers Jesinta Gudiya and Elin Gudiya, and Sewing Instructor Anima Tiru. All dignitaries shared their views and encouraged women to regularly attend training sessions, transform their skills into entrepreneurial ventures, and engage in collective production through Self-Help Groups.
The sewing instructor presented the training framework, explaining that participants will receive practical training in stitching, cutting, designing, and garment production. The objective is to equip women with the necessary skills to start their own businesses or participate in group-based production activities for income generation.
The event witnessed the presence of Panchayat Mahila Mitras, local rural women, guardians, and respected community members. The local community appreciated the initiative and expressed hope that the center would open new avenues of employment and dignified livelihoods for women in the region.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective pledge to work together for regional development and women’s empowerment.
